Parental Prism

They have toiled us with their sweat-

And now we have to reap. We two-

Standing on our own and what they think.

But what they think actually?

9 months in a mother’s womb,

Learning from your father to comb-

Every bit of our childhood, bitter or sweet,

We owe to them…

“…From career to marriage,

The selection of the cars in the garage-

Friends and sports,

The capacity of our brain and our potential efforts.”

Flashback…

A struggling father juggling his choices,

A wishful mother sacrificing her voices,

They really deserve us, for sure.

 Parents provided,

They also think about us-

We too think. We do have our own wishes.

We are not selfish, but what we think actually.

I am not writing this piece on any influence-

Nor because I am spoiled by reading some Jack the ass.

But because I think like this sometimes-

Mean, very mean.

This is an uncertain poem that is reflecting a thought that needs to be vented at times. Some parents are liberal and others are not. Some
siblings are loyal and obedient and others are not. So an individual thinking and parent-sibling relationship can be bended either ways. After all it is a mutual relationship that deserves understanding the hetero-complex psychology of each other in a logical manner.
