Wishful Summer
We'll spend the summer cool beneath our favourite tree,
Taking turns lying on each others knees.
We'll watch the flowers grow and the clouds roll past
And tomorrow think about completing todays tasks.
As the nights grow warm, so will our hearts,
The sweat of love will plague our bodies parts.
Under our tree is where you'll find us kiss,
Upon the grass we'll exchange a promise.
Of blushed cheeks and pounding heart beats, of eyes gazing a thousand times over, our hands touching with intentions so sober.
Constellations of stars stuck in the pale sky,
And a note addressed to each other if we're ever questioning why.
And as the summer turns cold once again,
I'll reach to my drawers for my favourite pen,
And scribble the reasons I love you on every leaf.
Hand you my warmest coat and traditionally sit beneath, our favourite tree as his leaves fall, the winter will not bring burdens at all.
But remind you of every reason to stay, underneath our tree and read each letter as we lay.
