Conversations With the Mind: The Heart
The heart is a confusing hold
Getting itself lost
Doing what it wants no matter what it's told
It holds pictures of you, your smile
your sounds, your scent
and projects them to my brain
Making you still there when you're absent
Making you the stairs that walk me from my glass home
The back streets in my mind
You're on every corner
You're on every break in my heart
They say that if you love something
and set it free, if it comes back it's yours
Well I've been trying to make my way back
But I'm trapped in these flower beds and scenery
And don't know how to make things right
The sun is still shining but I'm at a loss
Trying to get back but I'm in the arctic
Freezing with the penguins trying to build a fort
Because I don't know the right words to say to you
Standing on an ancient mountain in China
Yelling your name but no one can hear me
Except I feel that you hear the faint echo of it
Trying to swim across the ocean for you
But I haven't learned to swim yet
But I will..
Drop a grain of sand in the ocean
or a rock they both sink just not at the same rate
It's the same for us
The bigger your heart, the harder you fall apart
I'm just looking for the window to crawl through
The window of acceptance so I can give it back
and be everything I can. For you
Getting itself lost
Doing what it wants no matter what it's told
It holds pictures of you, your smile
your sounds, your scent
and projects them to my brain
Making you still there when you're absent
Making you the stairs that walk me from my glass home
The back streets in my mind
You're on every corner
You're on every break in my heart
They say that if you love something
and set it free, if it comes back it's yours
Well I've been trying to make my way back
But I'm trapped in these flower beds and scenery
And don't know how to make things right
The sun is still shining but I'm at a loss
Trying to get back but I'm in the arctic
Freezing with the penguins trying to build a fort
Because I don't know the right words to say to you
Standing on an ancient mountain in China
