downpour
I see the beauty in death
even though I know not what death brings
I'm blinded by the love of the idea of leaving
because it's the quiet peace after wards
that I envision and am enamored by
even if it takes torrential destruction
to get there
it's the calm after the storm
that I pray is what's in wait for me
after I take myself away from this place
(will you come with me?)
(I don't want to leave you here)
(in the chaos of living)
(without my protective hand)
(guiding you and holding you close)
even though I know not what death brings
I'm blinded by the love of the idea of leaving
because it's the quiet peace after wards
that I envision and am enamored by
even if it takes torrential destruction
to get there
it's the calm after the storm
that I pray is what's in wait for me
after I take myself away from this place
(will you come with me?)
(I don't want to leave you here)
(in the chaos of living)
(without my protective hand)
(guiding you and holding you close)

The final dialogue in brackets makes a beautiful ending to this dark and yet seren poem. Your ability to convey beauty in death is terrifying; I just hope no-one on the edge reads this haha. Well-written and constructed piece, so quietly and lushly romantic, especially considering its subject matter.

i admire your courage as it is described in the stunning poem. you fear not death but you can see it's beauty regardless of what it may bring!

we're all headed there regardless like we're all in life regardless of what we may have chosen had we been asked beforehand.. so it can't be any worse than life.. there is no hell.. we're already experiencing that in the here and now
!
Jack said it perfectly with "lushly romantic". Through the ideals in death and the last stanza, too; goes with it perfectly. Gorgeous is all over this one.

I like that you've called this downpoar...like crashing down and cleansing both at the same time. There's something amazing about storms...the way the air builds up thick and heavy right before they start, and all that roar and grinding of earth plates and rain clears the air completely...

i like right before it rain and it cools down (esp here since its usually so hot) and you know its almost there.. in the poem i talk about the calm AFTER the storm though.. after the storms here its usually hotter than before.. all that fucking humidity.. dont you think crashing down is cleansing like destruction leads to good in the end.. like it needed to happen.. like ive had visions of the void but also complete chaos.. both are complete.. and i think they follow after each other.. and they just need to come about.. like the big bang or whatever in the beginning was building up and inevitable.. necessary.. building up and inevitable like certain 4 words :)
beautiful work.
