I Remember
I remember…
I remember the night we met beside the brook,
The dance we shared beneath the moon,
The wholesome embrace before the dawn,
The soft caresses whispering beyond the shades of nightfall.
I remember…
I remember the fields and meadows,
The distant shores;
The waves that kissed the tide’s eternal break.
I remember the sand beneath our feet,
The winds which swept your hair apart…
The beauty beheld upon the sinking sun.
I remember…
I remember the pain we shared,
The touch of sorrow…
I remember the cold forgotten words;
The silent malice which cleaved our hearts in two.
I remember the tears which fell upon my shoulder
To flow the tides of time apart.
I remember…
I remember the child you showed which lied within,
The miracle of resurrected innocence.
I remember the spark which birthed the flame
To carry my dreams through the depths of despair.
I remember…
I remember the face which shown its light
To lead the seeker beyond the gate.
I remember the pit of toil, my soul was torn.
I remember…
I remember the gift without a return,
The memory alone to shield the flame.
I remember the light you gave to find the way
Beyond the darkest cave.
I remember and shall not forget
What love doth give above the thorns,
The rose, the beauty, shall not be torn.
I remember the night we met beside the brook,
