Empty Garden
A wooden bench, an empty garden
Enclosed within a high stone wall
A single figure in the corner
Sits waiting for his love to call
Long past the two were here together
So tightly held, enmeshed as one
A gardens bright and vibrant beauty
Now colour drained and almost gone
With footsteps heard off in the distance
Then nearing, closer comes the sound
As hopes are dashed again the silence
He bows his head down to the ground
In solitude he sits there waiting
Of futile love he yearns, he dreams
Another day without his soulmate
Connections drift and fade it seems
His gaze falls on a friend they shared
A graceful feline passer by
And as he stands to leave their garden
She purrs to him a soft goodbye............
Enclosed within a high stone wall
A single figure in the corner
Sits waiting for his love to call
Long past the two were here together
So tightly held, enmeshed as one
A gardens bright and vibrant beauty
Now colour drained and almost gone
With footsteps heard off in the distance
Then nearing, closer comes the sound
As hopes are dashed again the silence
He bows his head down to the ground
In solitude he sits there waiting
Of futile love he yearns, he dreams
Another day without his soulmate
Connections drift and fade it seems
His gaze falls on a friend they shared

And as he stands to leave their garden
She purrs to him a soft goodbye............
