NEW LEAF

yesterday is nothing but knowledge
tomorrow is nothing but anxiety
today is time for practice
not to taint with yesterday
nor waste thinking of tomorrow

i have always giggled
this time of year
at peoples resolutions
their goles far or near

alas through open eyes
my realisation
and a couple of sighs
i gathered my demons
for some exercise

and i guess some will laugh
and some will scorn
call me weak
and claim me dumb

but i must accept
that of which i cant change
and thank my past
for knowledge gained

we spend to long
dwelling on worthless shit
instead of accepting
some shoes just don't fit

so dance with those demons
find grace in the shadows
find strength in the storms
laugh at the gallows
love with your soul
enslave your pain
make that shit work for you

forgive n forget
never regret

but remember my friends
whatever life throws at you

the only thing that can
break you
