Alone Upon The Beach
Sitting here alone in thought, my world seems at an end
With minutes stretching into hours, no life, no love, no friend
Waves come crashing to the shore, my barriers to breach
Forbid them passage to my mind, alone upon the beach
Gazing out upon the sea, the ebb and flow of tide
A gentle voice invades my mind, nowhere for me to hide
Her words drift in from off the swell, sweet ways of love to teach
Then bleed away through pebbled ground, alone upon the beach
My dreams grow wings and soar on high, go seeking out her love
On gliding over rolling fields, fly swiftly as a dove
So far away and yet so near, but always out of reach
Where sea worn rocks do catch my tears, alone upon the beach
A roll of thunder, darkened sky, and lightening cracks the air
Just let it strike into my heart, and leave me die right there
A silent prayer is offered up, to god I do beseech
Return my angel back to me, alone upon the beach
