The Day I Learned To Fly
I woke up early that day
The future in my eyes
Let me tell you about
The day I learned to fly
I didn’t say a single thing
Except half hearted goodbyes
The sky was a perfect grey
The day I learned to fly
I didn’t write a long letter
For fear that I would lie
All it said is this shall be
The day I learned to fly
I found the highest point
Forced out my last sigh
And told myself not to look down
The day I learned to fly
I’m high or low depending
On only if you cry
Or wish you were there with me
The day I learned to fly
The future in my eyes
Let me tell you about
The day I learned to fly
I didn’t say a single thing
Except half hearted goodbyes
The sky was a perfect grey
The day I learned to fly
I didn’t write a long letter
For fear that I would lie
All it said is this shall be
The day I learned to fly
I found the highest point
Forced out my last sigh
And told myself not to look down
The day I learned to fly
I’m high or low depending
On only if you cry
Or wish you were there with me
The day I learned to fly
