The Question

I suppose yesterday was a just a trigger
The frustration has been building for sometime
I was tired and looking for a sign
A sign from you to tell me I am not alone

Each time I looked you hadn't bothered
And annoyance became a friend of mine
Here I was working but also making time
Some time from you to tell me I am not alone

What is it about you that so intrigues me
Gives me hope and creates despair
What is it about you that so enshrouds me
And empties my heart when you're not there
What is it about you that so riles me
Creates despair when you're not there and I think you don't care

Your priorities are different you are busy
You have a life that's different to mine
You say I sulk I say I miss you
And you have a family - husband and all is fine

I tell you all there is to me share with you
Because in you I trust - is that a crime
I love hearing about your days
But I want the real you not another woman of iron

What is it about you that so intrigues me
Gives me hope and creates despair
What is it about you that so enshrouds me
And empties my heart when you're not there
What is it about you that so riles me
Creates despair when you're not there and I think you don't care
