As I Lay Dying
You have given me your rope, With a tear just weak enough
You are the righteous and wicked, A beautiful contradiction
I have never felt more alive
My eyes have never witnessed such beauty
My hands have never touched such grace
My heart has never been in such a haste
I have never written words to describe you
As many letters as I have drawn
I could never describe the spell that overwhelms my creativity
I could never paint the masterpiece that captures your every detail
No matter the canvas or colors
I have spilled my blood in sacrifice
My tears in such homage to your presence
My servitude could never repay the favor you once paid me
You looked me in the eyes...
And as the beast breathed from within...
You stood your ground, The ground that shook from within
And as I lay dying...
I know the beast has spilled the blood of my doubts
I know the monster has fled through my tears
As they touched your skin
I know I am free, As my lips taste the breath you breathe
