Suffocating Words
Your words are
An army blanket
Dipped in boiling water
Wrapped around my head
In a Louisiana swamp
In the middle of July
Your words mean
Holding me under water
Without having took a breath
Not struggling
Having to break down for air, but water won't suffice
Breathing in deep, water filling my lungs to burst
Your execution is
Quick and sharp
A thin film of blood
Glazing over the eyes
Watching it wither and rot
Waiting for it to decay
Your words
Mind numbing
Excruciating
Impossible to grasp
Twisting and turning
But impossible to live without
An army blanket
Dipped in boiling water
Wrapped around my head
In a Louisiana swamp
In the middle of July
Your words mean
Holding me under water
Without having took a breath
Not struggling
Having to break down for air, but water won't suffice
Breathing in deep, water filling my lungs to burst
Your execution is
Quick and sharp
A thin film of blood
Glazing over the eyes
Watching it wither and rot
Waiting for it to decay
Your words
Mind numbing
Excruciating
Impossible to grasp
Twisting and turning
But impossible to live without
