An Outlook on Life
I stand alone
When life gets tough I stand strong
Everyday is a new challenge
With the rising of the sun comes a new battle
Needing to be faced within
As well as without
Life is the field on which each war is waged
Time is the key to success and each failure leads to
New knowledge
Every issue is the opposing side
Fighting back for a say in
The life that I live
Determination is what drives me forward
Some days I'll win and some days I'll lose
It's not easy but it's life
And life goes on

I'd say your outlook on life isn't bad at all. "Some days I'll win and some days I'll lose
It's not easy but it's life" Life is what is and we just have to accept it for what it is. This poem is like a long quote or at least that's the format it seems in but offers many truths to life. I'm one who definitely encourages the use of literary devices because they can do wonders for poems. This poem isn't bad however if you want to take your writing to the next level then try and incorporate a few into your future poems and this one as well if you choose to.

Thank you for the advice it's very much appreciated :) I don't really know about writing terms, didn't pay much attention in class. I usually transfer the words from my mind to the page but I'll definitely look into it.
