Sonnet #1
I Tried Out Writing A Shakespearean Sonnet a while back but i'm not sure if i got the iambic pantameter right, Ive never done it before so any help or advice or whatever is very much appreciated.
Why is this heart of mine so hard to find?
It's cloaked by naught but skin and flesh and bone.
So easy it's seen by the old and blind.
So hard it must be for those not alone.
I know that its here for I feel it beat,
Each time a great, warm embrace welcomes me.
Much more it can hold than this world complete,
But so much less it has been forced to be.
Save a few girls that brought love to my eyes,
They've all proven to have waisted my time.
Not one was more than a sad, waved goodbye,
There is not one that could have saved my mind.
But all in all it is written by Fate,
In this poem called love each man has to wait.
