Nothing more than a sigh

My eyes are tired of the tears
that stay behind them
just as my ears remain battered
by the opinions
that I can't press against
due to apparent legal matters.

There is wrong here:
Unpleasant faggotry,
corporate blindness
and the usual sheep bullshit.
No one will stand,
not when the hierarchy
looks down
and shakes a finger.

I may worry too much,
but it is easy to see
where the fight went.
It is easy to see
why there is reducing reason
in not standing proud
and offering toe to toe
with anyone one of these
weak fucking dupes.

They'd crumble; all of them,
but behind their paperwork
and their drinks at the end
of the working day
they are kept safe
by loving women
who love nothing.

I am tired,
far too tired,
but happy to stay awake.
Decency is lost
on those who are not
necessarily proud of their jobs,
but so used to them
that they act as if they are.

I throw scorn at those
who silence those
who may just be right
for the sakes of contracts
and policies.
If we are to protect
anything
it should be our children
and if we are to protect them
from anything
it should be
