Illusions of Tenderness
I am bound,
shackled--
To your twisted acts of
sweetness.
Those gag-worthy moments
Of which,
Are few and far between.
You truly deserve a
nomination,
If not the grand prize--
For the best ability to snag,
rip,
and tear,
At another's heartstrings.
I want to hate you.
I should hate you!
Even tied down so tightly,
I secretly long for your gentleness.
Those soft caresses,
And hushed words of sweet nothings.
For it is in those moments,
I can pretend you truly care.
