To The End (For Those Who Fell Before They faded Away)
Got your cigarette,
Standing there lost inside time.
Blowing you away,
While you stand there trying to hide time.
Your eyes look alone,
Like no ones left to ease your mind,
Empty and hollow,
Like nothings left for you to find.
You pull up a chair,
And sit there knowing you wont stand,
Cause now it’s all gone,
Faded to just grains of sand.
You don’t hear that sound,
The thunder faded to a hum,
Shoot the feelings down,
Now everything has become numb.
You can’t hear a thing,
Just whispers of a bitter life,
Grab a cigarette,
And fumble round to find a light.
Take a deep breath in,
Feel the weightlessness set in and then,
Just close your eyes now,
And know that you remember when.
When a life was a life, And a thing was just a thing.
When hurt was just some,
And that dream....It was YOUR dream!
No one told you how,
You just dreamed of what your heart desired,
So dream one for me,
I was fortunate to avoid the fire.
I sit here with my cigarette,
Wondering how you did it all.
You hit the very top,
Then jumped right off despite it all.
My thoughts are yours tonight, my friends,
I heard your words, I hear them still.
