This is the new way
for countless individuals
to celebrate the holidays!

Alone, on the evening of
December 14th.
Impatient, frustrated,
impotent.

20 angels recalled,
their life contracts rescinded
against their will.
Another massacre
of the young by the young
and what the fuck, no?

Forget the outrage,
where is the accountability!
That type of fuckry
is not created
in a vacumm.

There is a pattern here
for all to see
but nowadays,
no one wants to get involved
no one wants to be a snitch.

We notice the symptoms
we see the changes,
we speak about it sotto voce.
We give them a wide berth
for they are a ticking time bomb.
We worry, but we don't tell no one.

So we relive the tragedy
as if it’s preordained
as if we’re all cursed
to relive it
over and over,
again and again.
Because we never learn.

Society is a lonely place
for somebody
with a lot to give
but no one to give it to.

Damaged souls
that are not all really there,
y-k-w-i-m?

Or perhaps is it
that the broken hearts
of the lonely,
of the overachiever,
of the angry ones,
of the hopelessly shy
are forever condemned to be
entrapped by their own minds
and that's why
they inevitably snap.
Because no one ever notices them
until they snap.

A whole generation
that sorely needs each other’s company
unaware of its soul mate's existence,
both in the same room
but living on different dimensions.
How sad!

All wasting away at the core,
morally devastated,
spiritually bankrupted,
utterly alone.

With no one in the world
that cares about them,
dammed souls.
No life preserver on board to hold on to.
Condemned to live as a 0,
until they snap.

offers better prospects
than to die
in anonymity and
utterly alone.
