The Worst Best Friend

So, you say you've kicked your habbit,
And your plate is clean again.
But I know you're just a rabbit,
And you'll jump when you cant mend.
Your best friend will come a'yellin,
And you'll greet him with a smile.
After that there is no tellin',
If we'll see you for a while.
You'll be dazed, dumb, floatin' around,
But soon after you'll come down.
Then you will hate the world around you,
Cause they dont know what to do.
They dont know with what you're dealing,
They cant see your wounds aren't healing.
So that friend comes to your table,
And you try to remain stable.
But your longing is a wild one,
And right before you is a gun.
So you aim, shoot and close your eyes,
You're back into your big disguise.
Now your loving life and living,
But you dont know what you're giving.
Your friend will take your pride and money,
In exchange for tastes of honey.
You wont know it till tomorrow,
When you feel regret and sorrow.
By that time, you know, its too late,
And your death becomes a date.
You'll be bagged, tagged and cold as ice,
Another self-sacrifice.
To that friend you thought would help you,
To that fate you knew you'd come to.
Now all those glittering, white snowflakes,
Melted down to only heartaches.
Your best friend will prove you feeble,
For he'll take you with a needle,
Give you all you could have asked for,
But the clocks will grant you no more.
I bet your stairway is a long one,
And its steps you can not run.
So you better drop your best friend,
Before he shoots you to the end
