After All

These tears are tears you will never see
because I can't bare for you to know my truth
the truth is
For every smile that graces my face
inner fear grinds my heart to stone

When words of devotion seep from your
lips to my ears my body lifts into other dimensions
then is slammed to the ground wondering
when the words will consist of...
“I have to let you go”.

I pray to God and Universe
on battered knees and am left
wondering
is anybody really out there listening
perpetual dreams of worthiness being cast

I won't ask “Aren't I worth the risk?”
because I know I am...
but if you don't feel it
see it and breathe it
then I'm left in void...worthless after all
