Stars

You said to look up to the sky,
And see how the stars may shine.
The sound of your voice, the feel of your hand;
Though drove me lost in time.

Up above did my gaze so sore
To the blue canvas splattered white.
The sky glowed with an unfamiliar blaze,
One that illuminated the night.

Lost out in the everwonder had my mind gone,
To a place that knows no end.
A bird's chirp to blink myself back,
The look of a feathered friend.

To you my eyes do attract
Which I refuse to attempt to hide.
A million and one things raced through my head,
Though I'm calm with you by my side.

As attached by the hand we are,
I lay and stare intertwine.
Closer to me you drew your lips
And whispered "look how the stars shine."

At the sky my eyes did not retreat.
On you my look stays caught.
On your eyes ablaze as you gaze to the sky,
And on your face not an audible thought.

Moonlight caresses your face,
An unworldly beauty to untrained eyes.
Though in your glowing radiance in the second,
In my sight seen past a disguise.

You are no simple boy for me to love,
There is much more than what I see.
And as moonlight unlocks the puzzle I missed,
I realize what you truly must be.

The way your smile can brighten my world,
And your laugh illuminates my day.
Though only in the moment here and now,
Do the clues so clearly convey.

You drew me close with mouth to ear,
Whispering "look at the stars, how they shine for you."
You are the star I once wished upon,
And now you're my dream come true.
