Hours turn to days
The pearly moon replace the suns rays
Silent yearning grows silent still
Heart searching loves thrill
Aching emptiness of the soul
Love calling this absence foul
Desperate tears
Stifled fears
Where have you gone
Once light shone
Butterflies flew
Kisses like dew

I really like the title you gave this poem. Fits it perfectly. Especially when a person has been intoxicated on love. Nothing sobers up a person any faster than losing that love.
