The latest of events

When a mother is separated from her litter
It is truly a tragedy, the kittens are now on their own
The death of cat by a passing vehicle, makes many sad and bitter
For a while the kittens were all alone

Luckily they were saved before it was too late
Very young and defenseless
Kindness won over the usual fate
The power of heaven is relentless

They were thin, lacked shelter and food
As the summer heat was in full swing
To ignore the cries of nature is rude
Only several weeks old, they need everything

My mother took one in
As my sister and her boy friend's mother did the same
Another rescue and another tale to begin
What a shame

In time they will hopefully recover
A second chance to live again
Only weeks ahead we will learn and discover
If only more people cared, it is worth a prayer and a amen

Is the driver to blame?
Or the fact animals and nature are losing their home?
Many possibilities and reasons to name
As more die because they have less space to roam

What can be done?, I just don't know
Populations increasing and humans need more space
Yet how can God's creations survive and grow?
Slowly everything will be gone with out a trace
