A Sunless Rain
We were a beautiful chaos.
We loved and laughed.
Imagining it all to last.
But now I sit in a sunless
Rain, and I'm not ready to let go.
I'm afraid of forgetting your voice,
The sweet beat of your heart.
Now there's a sunless rain that
Falls around me. That's all you left me.
I listen to it like a lullaby, trying to
Remember every detail.
It all plays out, always
In black and white. I smile through the tears,
Because I hear your words. A simple forever,
And then I realize, that first real love never dies.
Death can only delay it for a while.
The sunless rain continues on and on,
But it's no longer cold.
We loved and laughed.
Imagining it all to last.
But now I sit in a sunless
Rain, and I'm not ready to let go.
I'm afraid of forgetting your voice,
The sweet beat of your heart.
Now there's a sunless rain that
Falls around me. That's all you left me.
I listen to it like a lullaby, trying to
Remember every detail.
It all plays out, always
In black and white. I smile through the tears,
Because I hear your words. A simple forever,
And then I realize, that first real love never dies.
Death can only delay it for a while.
The sunless rain continues on and on,
But it's no longer cold.
