back

with our backs turned
fists crying drops of cold sweat
we
walk away

not forward
but away, from
facing a break
a shattered reason to grow

as if there were any other
reasons
like reasonable ones
i imagine

each pace away
is heavier than the last
even though
the pace remains the same

i keep walking
never looking back
back into the break
never looking

just feeling it
rushing
like a nail bomb has blown
inside me, you

all of me
blown all over the place
the city, mountains
rivers, sea's

i feel gulls lifting
my flesh, brains
floating atop
a darkening sea

on a once sunlit day
pieces of my flesh, brushed
violently
into the gutters

bits of my legs, skull
left hidden in the alleys
start their rot
given up to the rats

I float away now, away
