Paths

The pulse, the beat, the throb
it suggests life and represents the hope
while still beating human experience
can be found

Decisions, choices, contemplation
rational/irrational processing
ways to respond
supposedly make humans a higher species

So a pulse runs through our veins we are alive
that beat, the harmonic of heart that permeates all
the throb that in an animal state sums up desire

Decisions small and large from a shirt to a bomb
choices as to which path to chose, which connection to lose
what is the meaning. is there any to be found

Look to a higher pay grade
I could write a million books and still not know
for so much of what you seek only you can answer
