Vanished Memory
Don't think
I missed
the harsh whispers
behind me,
going
to the dark of my room
and feigning sleep,
Looking
for an explanation
to my being,
crying desperately
no answers
for me,
A mother begs
what's bothering?
just crawl
in a bed
dissolve to a eulogy,
False imagery
only a shadow
that breaths,
the after image
that lingers on the screen,
Was I ever
really here?
forgotten already
A favorite sweater
from long ago
You know you had me
but
the details
keep slipping
until
all that's left
is a vanished memory.
I missed
the harsh whispers
behind me,
going
to the dark of my room
and feigning sleep,
Looking
for an explanation
to my being,
crying desperately
no answers
for me,
A mother begs
what's bothering?
just crawl
in a bed
dissolve to a eulogy,
False imagery
only a shadow
that breaths,
the after image
that lingers on the screen,
Was I ever
really here?
forgotten already
A favorite sweater
from long ago
You know you had me
but
the details
keep slipping
until
all that's left
is a vanished memory.
