in my core

I don’t like how it hurts,
Down so deep inside.
How its like a smoldering ember,
Burning in my core.
How the sound of your name
Puts my heart in a frenzy,
The way a lump in my throat forms
Just by your sighting.
An old memory,
An old picture,
An old dream or adventure
Doesn’t seem faze your perfect façade
It shouldn’t bother me the way that it does
I should move on…at least I act like I did
But deep down inside it hurts just as bad,
Like salt in a wound
Festering and raw
I cant escape the way I feel
But when I see her, with you,
The way you look at her, eyes glowing,
The way you talk about her
I think why wasn’t that the way for us?
Why was it so different?
Is it because the familiarity
Or was it my own inner turmoil that kept the distance,
Either way, its not fair
The way things ended, the way things stand
I miss the old you, the old memories we shared
Its just when I see her, having these same experiences and more,
It burns me like the ember
Rising in my core.[/u]
