tree roots

I found lavender
growing wild
by a gently flowing stream
darkly

i remembered you there
and thought of you
bleeding ever so slightly
out of your ears

we both held panic
in our hearts
as we wondered
what had happened

i checked your vision
which was fine, or
slightly off fine
but usual

you could still hear me
when i spoke with you
you said
and i believed

i saw you falling to sit
as i rushed back through the woods
to find help
as i saw it

my visions seem to fail
me here, alas
i just really remember the woods
your bleeding ears

and you, darkly
