Golden cage

You are alive but you have never lived.
An abused little child locked in a cage,
a pretty, golden cage.
The cage is so nice that you feel you
never want to escape.
Anyway, if you try, the terrible guardian
will lock you up again.
Hidden in your mind lies the secret:
The guardian is you.
