    Queen of the City

We could ride the streets at night
In a sea of city lights --
And go to a restaurant or go to a show
Or go to a club where the spirits flow.
We could duck down an alley where dark and decay
Bring contrast to light in our work rest and play.

We could live in a house or apartment or such.
If I'm with you -- the rest isn't much.
We'd drink wine by the fire or walk in the park
And make love in the day and make love in the dark.
We'd be rich with the treasures of a magical source
That brings wealth to the world in the course of our course.

And then for a change, we could move far away
And live in the wilds for a week and a day.
We could sit by our fire in a piney wood
Where the smell of the smoke is a perfume that's good.
We could swim in a lake that's cold crystal clear.
I'll see rippling sunbeams dapple your rear.

We'll sit on the shore on a smooth granite slope
And I'll look in your eyes and see all that I hope --
A woman as wild as this natural scene
And a Queen of the city of mankind's dream.
