Cleopatra

Let me select a single kiss for you
That we would share till the end of our times
One not remembered  for its strength or mood
But for our inability to mime.

I would hold you close, dance along your cheek,
let our lips talk for just a little bit
let the sparks ignite when at last they meet,
to which our hearts and bodies must submit.

It's one for which each moment shall be shed
a kiss shared at a specific date aligned
one from which all other ones shall be pled
Tender connections, our great love defined.

That single kiss, chosen for our duet
simply is the one we haven't shared yet
