My Demon, Where Are You Taking Me?
the demon lurks in my mind
tearing away at everything I am
until there is nothing left behind...
silver moonlight
illuminating teardrops
biting cold
the heart stops
beating one last time
and I've lost the way again
can't go back to where I've been
I'm on the last line
and I try not to cry
as the demon begins whispering to me:
"you are all alone
you have nowhere to go
come my child
let us roam
and find you
a new home"
and now here I am again
helpless and nearing my end
now when the knife
enters my flesh
I'll finally remember
that you could never
love me less
the demon spreads his arms
I am taken over with sorrow
that darkens every tomorrow
until there is no light
left to shine....
clouds covering
hovering
over my moonlight
the things in the forest
hiding from sight
and as I step
into the unknown
I realize how far I am
from home
your handsome face
your blue eyes
enter my mind
as I leave all I know
far behind
I follow my demon
into the night
my soul hiding inside
a world of fright
and now I wonder
is it too late to turn back?
can I turn against
the true nature of my darkness?
my head turns back
to the icy field
my wrist is gently taken
and now I am pulled
closer....
closer...
further into the forest
and farther...
farther...
away from you
tearing away at everything I am
until there is nothing left behind...
silver moonlight
illuminating teardrops
biting cold
the heart stops
beating one last time
and I've lost the way again
can't go back to where I've been
I'm on the last line
and I try not to cry
as the demon begins whispering to me:
"you are all alone

and find you

and now here I am again
helpless and nearing my end
now when the knife
enters my flesh

that you could never

that darkens every tomorrow

and farther...
farther...
away from you
