Metal Kiss
I’m drowning in a sea of black.
A sea the color of the darkest night.
It’s pulling me under the surface.
The ropes around my ankles are tight.
The water is icy cold and unforgiving.
It stabs my body like knives.
Tears stream down my face mixing with the sea.
As I wonder about all the other lost lives.
As I’m struggling against the waves, the light comes.
The light at the end of the tunnel comes in carmine.
It saves me from the numbness in my body.
It shows itself through a little straight line.
This little silver hero doesn’t seem like much,
But it becomes my best friend.
When I begin to feel the sea tug,
He comes out to kiss my skin again.
