I keep the room cold-
and won't cover my feet
even though they freeze.
don't use my voice
once my son sleeps.
Keep hushed-
as if uttering a truth
makes it so.
(either way- it is)
Lets be easy on eachother-
and forgive- and rest.
I sleep on your side if the
bed now. stay up
way too late.
lay in the dark-
hold my own hand.
trace the bones under my skin.
The empty air
and this life.
-it can leave you winded at times-
To take it all-
one must.
We all have our own sorrows.
and won't cover my feet
even though they freeze.
don't use my voice
once my son sleeps.
Keep hushed-
as if uttering a truth
makes it so.
(either way- it is)
Lets be easy on eachother-
and forgive- and rest.
I sleep on your side if the
bed now. stay up
way too late.
lay in the dark-
hold my own hand.
trace the bones under my skin.
The empty air
and this life.
-it can leave you winded at times-
To take it all-
one must.
We all have our own sorrows.
