My heart it holds a secret,
Some words I cannot tell
Not to my family and friends,
And all who know me well.
My lips, they want to utter,
Some words you'll never hear.
Suppress, I must; can never say
To blurt them out, I fear.
My mind, it has desires,
Things that I must conceal.
I know that I must die if I
Made errors to reveal.
My hands, they want to hold it!
My feet, they long to go...
To places where I cannot run
To worlds I'll never know.
Had I the right to say it!
If freedom were all mine.
I'd say it now, and every day
But now, I just repine.
Some words I cannot tell
Not to my family and friends,
And all who know me well.
My lips, they want to utter,
Some words you'll never hear.
Suppress, I must; can never say
To blurt them out, I fear.
My mind, it has desires,
Things that I must conceal.
I know that I must die if I
Made errors to reveal.
My hands, they want to hold it!
My feet, they long to go...
To places where I cannot run
To worlds I'll never know.
Had I the right to say it!
If freedom were all mine.
I'd say it now, and every day
But now, I just repine.
