Fantasy in Reality

Tonight as I fondly sit under my best friend
(A weeping hallowed oak tree)
I find myself gazing at the allurement of a full moon

Just as radiant as I recall last months visit

Valiant... luminescent... wondrous..

A million insignificant words that will never compare
Will never truly justify it's caress

The true essence of the romantics
An inspiration for any era
The voice of every bleeding pen
So fragile the soul of a poet..

So unheard the desperation of a quill

Desperate for enlightenment
Desperate for fiction

A story of forgiveness
A tale of acceptance
A novel of rescue

The passionate escape from a world in peril

Into the loving arms of prince charming
A savior for the heroine thrown into chaos
The "happy ending" for a claustrophobic soul in angst
In self pity

The shallow thoughts of a reclusive writer
The nightdream of every author
Lost in the trance of a minds supernova
Waiting patiently for celestial guidance

A star is such a whore of nature..
Allowing itself to be exposed by anyone who dares attempt to penetrate it's shear immunity
Anyone who observers the mystery of a sky painted onyx

I have caught but a mere glimpse of enchantment
Yet I stare in awe at all the graceful elegance portrayed
Mesmerized with the infatuation brought on by a veteran seductress

What I would give for the sheltered sight of a lunar fairytale..
To perceive the world with the endearing craft of a renaissance fable

Alas, the capricorn in me sneers at such rediculous desires
To be blinded with such audacity..
Life is not the printed pages of a childhood escape

So as realization once again spits acid upon my manifested thoughts of splendor
I will retaliate by peering into the promise of moonlight

I will solemnly ignite the cries of a heartbroken violin
Rekindling the imagination of a youth with fantasy as opposed to a woman in a tragic reality
