Sleeping alone in a cold bed
Searching for lies in my own head
Seeking the love of the once hopeless world

Moving from place to place
Never staying for too long
Wishing for a life that seems so out of reach

No wonder I’m confused
Broken and left torn to pieces
Slumber seems impossible to achieve

A love that once burned deep and passionate
Simmers to a slow, unfulfilling boil of heat and nothingness
Left to the elements of the repentant earth

Betrayal by the test of time
