Betrayal
Let me be held one last time
In the comforting arms of sanity
And leave me not in the claws of this creature
That rips into my mind so ravenously
Hungry for yet more of what I can no longer offer.
For to be betrayed by sweet temptation
Leaves a bitter taste upon the tongue of rich words
And icy lies that pierce me as viciously
As did the blade in my blackened heart
Of which you created from selfish greed.
I see why anger clouded my mind no longer
Yet why is the air thickening so?
My breath is becoming shallow
And the darkness is back to invade my vision
With your jaded eyes staring through.[/font]
