Veteran’s Day

Today is Veteran’s Day so I thought I would express how I feel.

It happens only once a year… but I think it should be once a month for all the oblivious Sheep that don’t think about it on a regular basis.

Veteran’s Day spans a wide range of emotions as well as time.

First… Thankfulness that someone is there… a reminder that a whole Army is watching YOUR back.

Sorrow in all the countless billions of men’s lives given up for you, me, my child and yours

.The atrocities thrown at us by tyrants and the will of the soldier to go after, and take down the enemy.

The horrific things witnessed by them and the courage and determination of them to go on seeing what they saw day after day.

Not to mention all the women who patched and saved the ones they could and relentlessly watched the constant agony and pain of  unspeakable injuries and souls leaving bodies.

Whether they came back being shunned and persecuted or praised and loved people didn’t see the broken psyche.

Let us not forget that this is the price for our freedom and that THEY chose to go  willingly.

Makes me think of my favorite box set of 6 VCR tapes for they truly are a BAND OF BROTHERS.

So if you see a veteran today or ANY DAY shake their hand, hug them, even bow to them. For they and all like them are like Godz that provide us with LIFE  and FREEDOM.
