Thanks for the comments. I thought of starting each line with "if" but that looked rather repetitious. I want to be savage, and warm, or at least understanding, for I am one of "them," too. A conflicting heart, I guess. Thank you, again, for your marvelous suggestions.

I feared my words would be percieved as heavy.... i guess i felt an absent weight...
