My Dear Isabel
If there is a star brighter than thee,
I would loath to be awake in the day.
If there is a blue sky bluer than me,
I shall put my longing for thee on delay.
For compared to the sun, thou art more bright,
And I am blinded to stare into thine eyes.
And if there is a sky bluer in sight,
My love for thee was full with tender lies.
All my sonnets I write to only thee,
For thou hath given me the light to write.
And all the days that are clear and cloud free,
I dedicate to the in all my might.
For thou hast given me the gift to see,
These sonnets that I write to only thee.
