To Isabel
When, in life, should we meet and love again?
For thou wishes to see me in the flowers,
And when the dawn breaks and a new day begins,
And when the spring rains falls to fair showers.
When should, in life, we meet once more?
Under the clear and cloudless skies,
And upon the graceful Pacific shores.
Where no soul shall parish, and non shall die.
For in an unfair life, I seem to see thee.
When I gaze into the clear blue water,
And I see the standing next to me.
With thy olive green eyes and and thy blank stare.
For it is not fair that I shalt see thee,
And thou shalt parish, for thou shant see me
For thou wishes to see me in the flowers,
And when the dawn breaks and a new day begins,
And when the spring rains falls to fair showers.
