Angel of Death

Oh Angel of Death – hear my plea
Take my hand and guide me
My soul is restless and my body is weak
It’s mercy I need and peace that I seek.
Gather me in your arms so strong
Please oh Angel, don’t steer me wrong.
Heaven is the refuge for which I long.
Please dear Angel, show me the way,
Don’t leave me to suffer another day.
My eyes cannot see and my mouth cannot talk,
My hands cannot hold, and my legs cannot walk.
It’s my time to go, I can no longer fight,
Hear me Angel, please show me the light.
Deliver me Angel, to Heaven’s Gate
Don’t make me linger, don’t make me wait.
I long to see my Father’s face
And feel tranquility in his Holy place.
I want to walk the streets of gold
And reach for Jesus’s hand to hold.
To live my life – happy and free,
Able to laugh, able to see.
Deliver me from evil, from Hell and from fire,
Carry me to Heaven – that’s my desire.
Angel of Comfort – come along for the ride,
Take care of my loved ones here at my side.
Shower them with comfort and care,
Let them feel the love that we share.
Grant them wisdom to know I’m okay
See their sorrow and take it away.
Keep them close, do not let them stray.
Don’t let their emotions get in their way.
They’ll need your strength to help them to stand
They’ll need comfort from your helping hand.
Surround them with peace, surround them with love,
Let them know I’ll be waiting in Heaven above.
Let them realize that I lived a good life,
I was a daughter, a mother, a sister, a wife.
I watched as my babies continued to grow
I am proud of them all, please make sure they know.
I was blessed with children, and then with the grand
My life couldn’t have been better even if it was planned.
My life overflowed with family and friends,
But every good thing must come to an end.
Dear Angel of Comfort, please hear my cry,
Help them survive, both morning and night.
Wipe away the tears that will fall,
Fill them with peace when the Lord comes to call.
Let me stay a memory close to their heart,
So we will never be far apart.
Let them continue this journey of life,
Let them be parents – a husband – a wife.
Let them sing praises to our God up above,
Fill them with comfort – fill them with love.
Let them know I’ll be watching over them each day,
Let them know that everything will be okay.
Help them realize this is my time to go,
And that I love them more than they’ll ever know.
Help them trust in our Lord and our Friend,
And know that we’ll be together again.
Tell them not to hurry – I’ll patiently wait,
And when it is time I’ll meet them at Heaven’s Gate.
Now I have done all that I can do,
I hope that my prayer reaches you,
I am ready to go, please hear me pray,
Dear Angel of Death – please take me away.
