Bloodied Knees, and Diamond Vision
You, person there,
tell me
its not what I think
see here?
this paradigm of need?
it's just below the lie
look closely...
And while I lie
it rejects my rationalizations
out of hand, not a care
for cliched dreams and fears
crows,
no, vultures
banners, chants
what is this?
upon the landscape of my soul?
There!
from the dawn something clears
men in metal
swords at their sides
dragons at their backs
and your face upon their flags
you hunger for your prize
see that hill?
blood-red, my army stands
grim resolution
Not this time! they cry
we shall not loose the heart!
Beneath the swords and spears
beneath a hundred thousand feet
a faint beat can one hear
and the paradigm of need takes its side
I drag my gaze from this scene
to meet magicians orbs
that try to fool with dreams
but I know they lie.
I jerk away
you tilt your head and smile
to somewhere,
brush past
my army slaughtered
your soldiers wrench
their prize from its peace
light her with fire
and turn their back
my heart hitches her dress,
stumbles, falls
runs after disappearing horses
The fire drives her to her knees
Bloodied, in a thousand piece night
she curls into the darkness
---------------
I fall in love, much, much to easily, and this poems describes my attempts to resist her deadly charms, yet, of course, I ultimately fail.
