Letting Go

Letting Go

Let me prepare for another let down.
Let me kick start my heart, for yet another break down.
It’s too late now, the brakes don’t exist.
Can’t turn around, on this destructive path I must persist.

A breaking heart makes such a distinct sound.
It’s oh so hard to breathe when you’re buried deep beneath the ground.
Ignite the flame, hot to the touch.
Quickly burn and crash from the rush.
Love is for fools, then what about lust.
Heart of tin, plagued by rust.
My heart I should never trust.

Let me fall to pieces and break,
There’s nothing more left of me for anyone to take.
Let me bleed, just another mistake.
Let me go and watch me fade.
Letting go never felt so innate.
