Newfound Faith

I was lost and broken on the verge of an implosion
I felt completely forsaken and lacked real devotion
Certain that my soul was damned to remain in hell
As I started to lose hope I heard the ringing of a bell
Celestial sounds from above hit my ears with grace
And splendid realizations slap me softly in the face
Saying He was always there in a soft and quiet tone
With newfound faith I walk this path with God alone
I understand I was mistaken; on Him I turned my back
Still he took me by the hand and put me back on track
Because of Him I know that I'm worthy and deserving
Of living a beautiful life, with devotion so unswerving
He gave me strength to get through the darkest days
And with nothing but love He lifted me from the haze
