The man I hope to be...

My precious son, I am your father, I promise to always be here for you, my love will never fade or falter.
No matter what happens, no matter what has been said or done, the love I have is unconditional and with it all battles are already conquered and won.

I find myself lost at times, wondering if I am capable of all that your require, but you are mine so I will just try harder, give you my all just to see a spark in your eyes a second of you inspired.

I sit here watching you sleep, wondering if you are happy and at peace, as a man I continue to struggle, coming to the realization that I will not always have the answers to your questions, but I will give you the best of my knowledge and point you in the right directions.

Times are tough right now for your daddy, occupational issues, have left me sad and worried, but its ok because I have you in my life.  I will continue to provide, and keep you unaware of my financial strife.

I will teach you all the necessities, how to be a good man, treat a lady right, stand up to the bullies and only as a last resort, I will teach you how to protect yourself and others in a fight.

I will do my very best to fulfill the roles of both a father and a mother, nurturing all your ideas, trying not to smother. I will let you in the kitchen as you wish, as long as you promise I will not have to wash a single dish.

My precious son I am your father, I will always stand in front of you when there is danger or hostility, beside you as your friend, offering advice when you are at a loss, and behind you, when you need someone in your corner as you show your ability and who's boss.

Your life has been entrusted to my care and I promise to always keep you safe from harm, I promise to be all that you will ever need and mold YOU into the man I can only hope to be!
