Lost Soldier

My heart is sad, it breaks with the damaging thoughts,
of men and women protecting, guarding,  leaving loved ones pained and distraught.

My heart is heavy it aches with endless fear,
stories of these loved ones abandoned and lost, left behind or captured, leaving only a mystery, a tear.

But the worst part is WE allow are soldiers who are lucky enough to return home,
to remain damaged, hurting, struggling with an internal storm.

The VA hospitals who vow to serve and protect, instead, take notes, make up excuses, add there name to a bottle, like an experiment they ignore and neglect.

These are men and women, they are someone's brother, sister, mother, father, they are not lab rats running wild,   They should not be cast aside like an abandon child.

I offer you a challenge, a plea, do not ignore the pain in there eyes, do not run from what you see, embrace them, love them help them to heal, be patient and kind, so the truth will reveal

If you can do this and take this vow, to help those who sacrifice themselves, who are tortured souls right now, then I can assure you we can help break apart the wall, a boulder, and we won't have to bury another lost soldier!
