Dealings With the Devil

I remember once upon a time
My dealings with the devil.
In that time, he was a friend of mine
A quite skewed image of an angel

We shared our secrets and many tales
Like friends for over an eternity
But what I didn't realize pales
In what he would do to me

As I began to see his true colors unfold
U was through his tricks and schemes
The air II felt around him soon turned cold
And he would eventually love to  bask in my screams

I soon began to hate him
His futility showing its light
I knew his future would be grim
That fact appealed to my delight

Finally I confronted the being
Seeing nothing but a monster despite
The seemingly friendly appearance appearing
Suddenly only became HUGE fear and fright

I took my sole weapon, my words
And sank him to his place
He had never crossed a mightier sword
And our friendship evaporated without a trace

I ponder upon my dealings with the devil
For it was a very long time
He definitely was never an angel
And never truly a friend of mine
